Dorothy Opal Frances Nelson Rice, born June 8, 1922 was called home on May 8, 2013. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Monday, May 13, 2013 at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of KCMO, retiring from Mid-Continent Public Library after 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert “Larry” Rice; six siblings, her parents and one grandchild. She leaves behind a sister, Lorene Roe; son, Charles Rice; two daughters, Reina Hilt and Dorothy Stotts; 12 grandchildern; 27 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
