Dorothy was born April 3, 1936 to Thomas and Winifred (Cary) Greeley in Kansas City. She grew up in the East Bottoms and graduated from Northeast High School. Her first job was at Montgomery Ward's where she met husband of 63 years, Fred. They married on October 25, 1958 at Assumption Parish. They made their home in Gladstone, MO, raising a family of 3 children. Dorothy was a Den Mother of Cub Scouts, a room mother and very involved in her children's activities. She established life-long traditions with her grandchildren. Dorothy always said, "take your children to activities, don't send them". She loved playing games and played cards with the same group of women for 50 years. Holidays and family traditions were important to Dorothy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Fred; three children, Mike Schwartz and wife, Dana, Scott Schwartz and wife, Vicki, and Linda Stilley and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Laura (Brandon) Rogers, Sarah (Kyle) Haas, Alex Stilley, and Amanda Stilley; and six great grandchildren, Cammie, Addie, Charlie, Wynnie Rogers, and Finn and Collins Haas.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff and nurses of Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care of Dorothy.
