

Doug is survived by his wife, Patti Danner (nee Dickens); his brother and sister in law, Jan and Sandy Danner; his children, Tracy Lynn and Kelly Dawn Danner; his grandchildren Devon Paul and Ashlynn Marie Moon and Joshua Andrew Warren Danner. He is predeceased by his son Andrew Lamoyen Danner; his brother Steve Danner; his mother Cecile Danner and his father Louis Danner.
Doug was born on Selfridge Air Force Base, in Harrison Township Michigan on May 20th 1956 to Cecile and Louis Danner. He was an Eagle Scout and a Hardway Warrior in the Mic-O-Say tribe with the Boy Scouts of America. He attended Ruskin High School and graduated in 1974. Doug then enlisted in the United States Air Force and achieved the title of Staff Sergeant. On January 3rd 1976, Doug married the love of his life, Patti Dickens. On October 2nd 1976, April 19th 1979, and September 26th 1982 respectively, Doug and Patti welcomed their 3 beautiful children. After serving his country for almost 20 years, Doug moved his family back to his hometown of Kansas City to take care of his mother. He became a federal employee, with the title of Archives Technician, for the National Archives and Record Administration until his retirement.
Doug was a devoted husband and father, who took great pride in taking care of his family and making life as adventurous and fun as possible. He enjoyed listening to music, concerts and entertaining, and loved to make people laugh and have a good time. He was able to travel to over 10 countries in his time with the Air Force, which included living with his family in Tokyo, Japan for 4 years. Doug was a meticulous and analytical thinker who liked to problem solve, and enjoyed learning new skills. He enjoyed difficult jigsaw puzzles, games of strategy, and crossword puzzles. Doug loved with his entire heart and his main goal in his life was to make people around him happy. He will be mournfully missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for 10:00am September 4th, 2021 at Newcomer’s Floral Hills cemetery located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd in Kansas City, MO. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at the Disabled American Veterans in Independence, MO.
