Eddie Barber, 86, passed away on July 30, 2015. He was born on November 5, 1928, the second child of Ed and Edith Barber. Eddie was a lifetime resident of Kansas City, MO, graduating from Central High School in 1945.
Married in 1948 to Helen Boyle, Ed and Helen were inseparable for 66 years until his death. They worked side-by-side for 37 of those years as insurance agents for Shield of Shelter, retiring in 1997.
Ed will be remembered for his goodness, his kindness to people, his love for family, and his joy in having fun.
Ed is survived by his wife, Helen; his daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Lynn Mitchelson; grandson, Christopher Largent (Emma); great grandchildren, Kaylee and Nicholas Largent; brother, Calvin Barber; sister Donna Dillon (Harold); and extended family, loved ones and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Barber; his parents, his sister, Carolyn Powell and sister-in-law, Ferna Barber.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 3 at Hillcrest Covenant Church at 8801 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, KS. Celebration Service following with Pastor Dori Brown officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South.
