It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edith (Edie) Ratty, 85. She passed away on September 6, 2020 and was our loving, devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She grew up loving to dance, later teaching and performing.

Edie met and married Warren, the love of her life, on June 6, 1953 and had four children.

Edie lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate home and loved shopping. Most of all she loved her family and instilled strong values in her children which served them well. She was very kind and compassionate to all who knew her.

Once becoming empty nesters, Edie and Warren loved traveling.

Edie will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Edie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren; parents, Adelard and Faybelle Gendreau; brother, Bob Gendreau; and sister, Adele Chester.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Ad) Slentz; daughter, Tracy Huskisson; son, Scott (Beth) Ratty; son, Todd Ratty; 6 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; and 2 great granddaughters. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, with graveside service at 2 PM, on Saturday, September 26, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. If you are unable to attend the services, we will Facebook Live Stream the Graveside Service on Newcomers Floral Hills Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/NewcomersFloralHills/

So glad I was able to view the graveside service. My deepest sympathy to Robin, Tracy, Scott, & Todd in the loss of your mother. Edith was always so kind to my family & me. I know there was a big "Welcome Home" party to greet her when she arrived in Heaven, attended by all those friends & family who have gone before. May the Lord bring you peace & comfort during this difficult time.
