Edna Ellen Maher Howard, 90, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. Funeral mass 10am Saturday, May 18th at Our Lady of the Presentation (130 NW Murray Rd, Lee’s Summit) with visitation one hour prior. Cremation. Edna was born on December 14, 1922 in Pierce City, MO to James Francis Maher & Ellen F. McAvoy Maher. She has resided in Pierce City, MO, Raytown, MO, Blue Springs, MO and Lee’s Summit, MO. Edna was currently residing in John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO at the time of her passing. She worked as a Secretary for the Veterans Administration in Kansas City, MO until her retirement & was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Howard; 5 brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Lawrence, James & Vincent Maher and four sisters, Margaret Hixson, Kathleen Jennings, Mary Francis Kappleman & Agnes Heimlich.
