Edna grew up in the foster care system in Baltimore, Maryland. Edna was married three times. Stanley Lowell Sandefur was her husband of choice. He passed away in August 2006 but will be laid to rest with her on August 19, 2022.
Edna had six children, three boys and three girls. The location of the boys is unknown. Her eldest daughter, Deborah, preceded her in death.
The biggest part of her adult life was spent in a semi-truck. She drove cross country and loved the life until she fell out of her truck and broke her back. After back surgery and recovery, she took classes and achieved her GED and training to work in an office setting.
Edna is survived by two daughters: Sharon of Kansas City, Missouri and Laura of Belton, Missouri.
A visitation will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2022, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131 with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Edna will then be laid to rest after the service at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
Edna loved to foster dogs, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KC Pet Project in her name.
