

Edward Eugene Ellis Jr., born on January 13, 1959, passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 66. A resident of Kansas City, Missouri, Edward was known for being hard-working, devoted, humorous, and adventurous.
In his early life, Edward attended a Catholic school where he served as an altar boy. Throughout his life, he lived in various places including Kansas City, MO, Houston, TX, Orlando, FL, Dover, MO, Savonburg, KS, and Kansas City, KS.
Edward had a diverse career, owning a security guard service, a tree trimming service, and an auto upholstery shop. He came from a long line of family upholsterers, continuing a proud tradition.
Edward is survived by his wife and partner of 41 years, Patricia A. Ellis. He leaves behind his children, Nancy Tomlinson, Edward Ellis, III, and Holly Sebacher, as well as his grandchildren, Eddie, IV, Makenna, Jimmy, Wyatt, Isabella, Alexandria, Matthew, Tiffany, and Bethany. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth, David, Mike, Jim, and Rick Ellis.
Edward was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl F. Brown and Vera M. (Hubbs) Brown, Ezra and Mary Alice (Sanderson) Ellis, his parents, Edward E. Ellis, Sr. and Nancy L. (Brown) Ellis Dobbs, and two brothers, Gerald and Mark Ellis.
Edward enjoyed all kinds of music and shared this passion with his family. Known for his friendliness, he never met a stranger and was always willing to help out. A doting grandfather, he took pleasure in dining out, planning and implementing family vacations, visiting with neighbors, and designing and building websites. He was a little ornery and enjoyed playing fun pranks with the family.
Edward Eugene Ellis Jr. will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. As per Edward's request, there will be cremation with no services.
