

Edward L. (Ed) Farley, 95, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 2, 2025 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main Street, Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., and a luncheon will follow the Mass. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, MO, following the luncheon, and will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Ed was preceded in death by the fascinating companion of his adult life, his wife, Florence Stefanik Farley, with whom he enjoyed 40 years of happy married life. He was also preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Alice Farley, and his brother, Donald Farley.
Ed was a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Missouri Law School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. His principal employment was with RCA, followed by a shorter period with Black and Veatch.
Ed had varied interests, was an avid reader, and often volunteered his time to help others in his parish and community. After his wife’s death, he spent many of his later years on his farm near Jamesport, MO.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia Summers, his brother, John Farley, and many nieces and nephews.

Ed and his family wish to thank the doctors, nurses, and medical staff members of the University of Kansas Medical Center and Sharon Lane Rehabilitation Center, who provided loving medical care during the last six weeks of his life. Ed and his family also wish to thank the residents and staff of St. Anthony’s Senior Living, an independent living retirement community where he resided since 2023, for their friendship and their support.
Ed had a strong faith in God, and took joy in serving others. His great generosity, strength of character, and his kindness and commitment to his family provided a lifetime of example for all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
