

Edward J. Ludwig, 64, passed away June 18, 2017. The visitation is from 5-8 PM Friday, June 23rd, with a Knight's of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 PM, at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO where the Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24th. To honor Ed’s passion for sports the family encourages the wearing of a Kansas City team’s sports attire during Friday’s services at the Church. Graveside services are 2:00 PM Saturday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Lansing, KS. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to St. James Building Fund.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Ludwig; 5 children, Kristin, Tonya, Rick, Mark and Sara; 15 grandchildren, Samantha, Geoffrey, Tessla, Carmon, Martina, Jordan, Quintin, Zak, Ali, Azaan, Zaim, Aniq, Zoha, Lydia, and Alexander; 1 great grandchild, Gannon; his mother, Patricia; 12 siblings, Mike, Jerry, Kathy, Rick, John, Tom, Mary, Carolyn, Doug, Cindy, Chris, and Tim; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward E.; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie.
Ed retired from the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Claycomo after 19 years of employment. He then worked at St. James Catholic Church. Ed was a Fourth Degree member of the Knight’s of Columbus, a meals on wheels volunteer, a pro-life advocate, he taught confirmation and bible study, and was an active member of the Catholic Church. Ed was a sports enthusiast. He dearly loved his family, especially the grandchildren.
