Edwina D. Walker Saunders, 72, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
Edwina D. Walker was born on January 11, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas, to the union of Carrie McAnderson and William Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Leatha Thompson, brother William Walker, and grandson Mark A. Marion, III.
She attended the Kansas City, Kansas public school system. Early in life Edwina wed Claude E. Wright and from that union a daughter was born Nilene Marion. She soon became an Operator Services Manager for AT&T until her retirement. Later in August of 1981 she wed Carl E. Saunders whom she will be joining for eternity.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Nilene Marion; sisters Charlene Phillips of Topeka, Kansas and Anna L. Allen of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; grandson Nilan C.
