Elaine F. McGuff

Elaine Frances McGuff, born May 6, 1960 in Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, surrounded by loving family. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph T. McGuff and Mary K. (Kay) McGuff.

Elaine grew up in Kansas City's Country Club neighborhood near Visitation Church. She was an outgoing and active young person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the nearby Country Club Plaza, Nelson Art Gallery, Brookside shops, and Loose Park. From a young age, Elaine developed a passion for swimming and tennis, participating both recreationally and competitively. In terms of her education, she attended Visitation Elementary School, Bingham Junior High, Bishop Miege High School and the University of Kansas.

Later in life, Elaine was confronted with difficult health challenges, which she faced with remarkable courage and resilience. She was fortunate to find comfort and exceptional care at Providence Living Center in Topeka and her family is deeply grateful to the Providence staff for their compassion and support.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Kay McGuff and her brother John McGuff. She is survived by her siblings Nancy Thomas (Robb Rosetti) of Novato, CA, Mike McGuff (Teresa McGuff) of Olathe, KS, Marianne McGuff of Florence, KS, Bill McGuff (Ann McGuff) of Lenexa, KS, and sister-in-law Rhonda McGuff of Overland Park KS.

Memorial services will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 12800 W. 75th St. in Shawnee, KS on Wednesday, July 17th. The visitation will start at 10:30 a.m., with the funeral following at 11:00. A luncheon for attendees will be served after that. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a mental health care facility or foundation of your choice in Elaine's memory.

Elaine will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the enduring love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
