Eleanor R. Beck

Eleanor R. Beck, 89, Kansas City, passed away February 13, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 17th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr, Kansas City, MO 64116; entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr, Kansas City, MO 64156.

Eleanor was born August 20, 1928 to Lucy and Ben Luetkemeyer and raised on a small farm in Miller County, MO. She was the 2nd of 15 children. On April 29, 1950 she married Alfred Beck in St. Elizabeth, MO. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage and 8 children and their families. She lived in Kansas City since 1965 attending St. Patrick Parish and participating in the choir. Eleanor was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, country music and dancing. She considered raising her children the most important job in the world. Eleanor opened her arms and her home to everyone including family, extended family and friends. She loved them all and was deeply loved.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 2007; a daughter, Mary Briley in 2007; and sisters, Dorothy, Mary Ann, and Marlene.

Survivors include 7 children, Judy Lewis and husband, Gary, Alfred Beck, Rick Beck and wife, Katy, Pat Vanderford and husband, Bob, Robert Beck, Lori Gibler and husband, Kevin, Gary Beck and wife, Barbara; the more than 50 grand and great-grandchildren; 11 siblings, Bernard Luetkemeyer, Anton Luetkemeyer, Gerald Luetkemeyer, Caroline Johnston, Richard Luetkemeyer, Larry Luetkemeyer, Janice Hake, Pat Luetkemeyer, Mike Luetkemeyer, Kathy Raithel, and Julie Wilson, and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
