

Elias K. Giannios, 87, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away October 23, 2013. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Trisagion service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12001 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145, followed by burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
Mr. Giannios was born February 3, 1926 in Rizes, Greece, son of Konstantine H. and Stamata (Dellis) Giannios. He served as an MP in the Greek Navy. He came to America in 1951, met the love of his life and married Edith Jianas, and stayed in America. They celebrated 61 years of marriage, raised three devoted daughters, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He loved his church, his family, to cook, to dance and sing. Mr. Giannios was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, serving as chanter 50+ years, choir member, parish council member and festival worker. He was also a member of the Pan Arcadian Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Panayiotis Giannios. He is survived by his wife Edith Jianas Giannios; daughters Stacie (Ed) Sampson, Tricia (Tim) Eikel and Tina (Bart) Alyea; grandchildren Louis Sampson, Ashlee (Matt) Duffield, Clyde Aufer, Cara (Kristian) Beck; and two great-grandchildren Madelyn and Adrian. Mr. Giannios is also survived by siblings Christina (Mike) Seferlis, Mike (Erasmia) Giannios, Evangelia Giannios, all of Greece; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Daddy you will be greatly missed. May your voice forever sing in Heaven.
