Elizabeth "Chacha" Alcanter

Elizabeth "Chacha" Alcanter, age 85, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Elizabeth was born in Somerville, Texas and moved to Kansas City with her family as a child. She was a quilter and enjoyed sewing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Elizabeth was a liver transplant recipient of 33 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Procopio and Guadalupe Ramirez; three brothers and three sisters. Elizabeth is survived by five children, Ben (Debbie) Alcanter, Elizabeth (John) Barrera, Patricia (Cliff) Couty, Eileen Alcanter and Gilbert Alcanter; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 4 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111. Interment in Forest Hill-Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, One Barnes Jewish Hospital Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63110.
