Betty was born in Kansas City, on May 29, 1931 to Leo J. Sullivan and Sadie (Cookson) Sullivan. She attended St. Therese Little Flower Church and grade school where she often played the organ. Betty attended St. Teresa’s Academy and Hogan High School and Avila College for two years. She married William J. Berg September 25th, 1954.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was active in her children’s lives throughout the years both in school activities and beyond. She was a grandmother you could always count on. She was a devoted Catholic and faithful Irishman. Her day always began with hot coffee and the Kansas City Star. She devotedly followed the Chiefs and the Jayhawks. We will remember that she loved mail order catalogs and any chance to get to Nordstrom’s, Talbots or Chico’s. She had a way of persuading you to incorporate lunch into any doctor appointment.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband of 60 years, William J. Berg.
She is survived by her four children: William M. Berg, Overland Park, Kathleen (Mark) Callegari, Overland Park, Debbi (Steve) Knowles, Mundelein, Illinois, Christopher (Molly) Berg, Kansas City, Missouri; Eight Grandchildren: Courtney Callegari, Stephen (Julie) Knowles, Matthew Callegari, Ryan Knowles, Thomas Knowles, Eileen Berg, Erin Berg and Brennan Berg; Her sister Terri Quinn of Olathe Kansas; Two nieces and a nephew and many dear friends and loved ones.
