OBITUARY

Elizabeth Ann Christman

February 12, 1928November 13, 2020

Elizabeth Ann Christman, 92, of Independence, MO passed away November 13, 2020. Services will be held on Fri., November 20th at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 Lee's Summit Rd., Indep. Visitation begins at 10am, Rosary recited at 10:45 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born February 12, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to William and Zada (Yeatts) Huffaker. She graduated from Northeast High School class of 1945. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Paul J. Christman, Jr. in Wichita, KS.

Elizabeth was mostly a stay at home mom and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family throughout the years. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She helped start an adult volleyball league and was also a coach. For over 20 years, she was an active member of St. Michael's, a member of their Altar and Rosary societies, a Fatima Choir member and a member of the PTA.

Elizabeth retired from the Jackson County Courthouse as a Data Entry Clerk in the Records Division. She also worked at the Old Republic Title Company. After retirement, she moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed her time there. She loved her animals and they were plentiful at the lake. Elizabeth was most proud of her family; her sons, daughters and 54 GRANDCHILDREN!

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Paul J. Christman, Jr., her parents, 2 sisters, Mary Lavelock & Frances Emberton. She is survived by her 5 sons: Paul Christman (Toleah), William Christman (Peggy), Mark Christman (Tina), Matthew Christman (Paula) and Christopher Christman; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Ann Sheldon (Jerry), Rebecca Christman and Pamela Wilson (Mike); 3 sisters: Billie Jean Monaco (Russell), Ellena Thomas (Ed) and Katherine White (Walter) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137.
