Elnora was married to Milburn Moore (known affectionately as “Bud”) for 43yrs until his death in 2003. Elnora & Bud supported a total of 13 foster children during their marriage. They adopted their surviving son, Jason Moore. They also had two sons, Michael, and Timothy, who are now deceased.
Elnora was a devoted spouse and mother. She loved her family and doing family events such as camping, fishing, boating, gardening, Boy Scouts, her son’s sports, and many more family events. She was a Den Mother for her sons Michael & Jason as well as was on the District Committee for years.
She was also active in the church beginning church activities in her youth and continuing church participation throughout her life. She was a past member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a current member of Peace Lutheran Church for over 20yrs, there she was a member of the Book Club, the O.W.L.S. Club, and loved helping with VBS (Vacation Bible School) every year.
Elnora worked as an accountant for most of her career until the late 1990’s when she got her dream job to work in a Lutheran School. She worked as the School Secretary at Calvary Lutheran Church and School Oak Campus at 75th & Oak in Kansas City, Missouri till she retired. She loved being around and helping all the children.
Elnora was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Russell Washburn and Anna Jeanette (Sowers) Washburn, her husband of 43 years Milburn “Bud” Moore, and her sons Michael Moore & Timothy Moore. She is survived by her son Jason Moore and her brothers Cliff Washburn & Floyd Washburn.
A Visitation will take place from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, June 12 at Peace Lutheran Church, 8240 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri. This will be followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
