Elsie M. Kretchmar

Elsie Marie Kretchmar, 78, Kansas City, passed away April 19, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Memorial Mass will be Friday, April 24 at 11:00 AM at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland, Kansas City. A visitation is scheduled Thursday, April 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, with the Rosary offered at 7:00.

Elsie was born Oct. 8, 1936 in Albion, PA to Sumner and Ellen Hough. She married Larry O’Gorman and together they had four children. In 1959 the family moved to Kansas City. She met Bob Kretchmar at a dance and the two were married in 1983.

Elsie was active in St Margaret’s Circle at St Gabriel’s Catholic Church. She loved to garden, read and care for her pets, but she was passionate about her children and family.

Her parents predeceased her and she is survived by Bob, her husband of 32 years; daughters Patty (Mike) Scarbrough and Colleen M O’Gorman; sons Larry O’Gorman II and Michael O’Gorman; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by brothers Donald (Carolyn) Hough and Fay (Peggy) Hough, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
