So sorry to hear of Ernie's passing.  He was so nice to everyone and always a pleasure.  The AYC won't be the same without him.  Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

It was my honor to be Ernies son in law. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family. You will be missed and never forgotten. Your legacy lives on through your family. I feel blessed to have known you.

Ernie and I were married for 27 years.  The marriage didn't work out, but since my second divorce in 2006, Ernie and I have become good friends.  When we were married, we have two daughters together.  We now have three grandchildren, and two great grand children.  We have spent many GREAT family times together, supported each other when one of us needed something, and at times been companions.  I am glad we had those years together.  Forgive me for not appreciating you more.  God Bless and love always.

Terri words cannot express the sadness I feel right now finding out about Ernie.  I sat down thinking about all the good times we would have on the 4th of July at Faye and Glenn's.  Mom and Dad and Ernie and Carolyn, everyone just having a fun time laughing, joking, the guys fishing.  We have lost three very special people in the last few years but I have comfort in knowing that those three fantastic people are watching over us from up above, and of course probably laughing and joking about something one of us is doing!!!!  My prayers are with you!

Ernie was a wonderful person. During my stay at the Grady Family in 1987 he was like a father to me and he gave me the feeling being part of the family.

To Carolyn and family - I am so sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. Carolyn and I have been friends at least 45 years meeting at Hallmark. I have heard her speak so wonderfully through the years about her family including  grandkids and now a great grandchild. Carolyn, you are a very special friend ... As bartenders, Ernie and I filled a lot of glasses at the AYC together over the years.  We had a lot of laughs and truly enjoyed each others company.  Ernie's wit and positive attitude would always keep me up.  Ernie is truly a legend at the Arrowhead Yacht Club and will be missed by all that have met and known him over the years. Ernie,  I only got to know you over the past couple of years and am blessed to have known you.  You always had a warm smile and good joke to offer everytime I saw you.  You are thought of and prayed for every day. Here is a Lake Winnebago sunset that will always remind me of you, watching from the patio of AYC while enjoying the company of you and all our friends.  You will always remain in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. However, I am so happy you all have so many wonderful memories that God will keep in your heart.  I've known good ole Ernie since kindergarten, when my life long wonderful friend Terri and I got to know each other. It is a shame that Terri and Lori are so shy and didn't inherit any of Ernie's humor, LOL. I always thought that Terri's personality and drive definitely came from her daddy. What I remember most….his big smile, his hugs, his jokes, not wearing shirts as much as possible, being a good sales man, working hard, loving his pool time, wanting to know what everyone was up too, and his love of seeing his grandkids excel in sports. During one HS reunion he told me how proud he was of Tiffany and her accolades, and how much fun he had over the years as a grandparent to Kyle, Chad, and Tiffany.  Although I didn't see him as much when I moved to Cali for college, when I did see him, it was like we hadn't been apart. His smile was contagious. One memory that came to me last night was at my wedding reception. After our first dance and parent dance, he was one of the first ones to jump in there and dance with me. It made me laugh thinking about how much fun he liked to have. I still have the unique ceramic tea kettle he gave us on our stove. I think what I respected most about Ernie was his desire to help you raise your awesome kids Terri. Carolyn he adored you (with good reason) and always looked at you like a school boy with a crush.  When it was all said and done, his heart wasn't for anyone else and of course you know that. I'm certain he was very happy to have Luke and Jon in his life, to help his girls and continue where he left off. I'm also certain he was very excited to know his great grandbabies. His fun character and dedication to his friends and family will not be forgotten. Praying for comfort and that all the good times you shared with him will keep you laughing. Love to all of you.

I wish I could have known Ernie, I only know that his daughter, Terri adored him.  We were recently at a vendor show and she was describing him to someone that knew him and the two women lite up with smiles and laughter!

Ernie loved his family. I can see him walking into the yacht club with his knee high socks on after coaching one of their games. He had a quick wit and friendly smile no matter where you saw him; grocery store, on his motorcycle, in his car, at the AYC. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Thoughts and prayers are with the Grady family. I met Ernie, his daughters & other family members through his lovely first wife Carolyn. I got the pleasure of spending many family functions with he and his family over the past several years. Ernie was a joy to be around and have many fond memories of him. He is in my thoughts and prayers.

Ernie was such a wonderful man.  He always had a smile for each person who walked in the Yacht Club.  It won't be the same without him.  Gale and I, along with every other person Ernie touched, will miss him greatly.

Rich and I will miss Ernie so very much.  Rich and Ernie liked teasing each other.  My grandchildren loved sitting in the bar chairs on Sunday morning at breakfast asking Ernie to make them a "shirley temple".

Speaking of making someone smile, Ernie always did that for me.  The times I got to spend with you guys where always special to me. I loved staying at your house during our visits to KC. Ernie was always laughing and cutting jokes. He cracked me up when he would banter with my Mom and call Geof, Jowffrey. I know he had his faults, as do we all, but I always felt welcome and comfortable around him. 

I will miss Ernie more than others may realize. I am glad I got to see him during my visit last year. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, the girls and the whole family. We are traveling in Europe for Abby's graduation trip. We won't be back until 8/12. So I am afraid I will miss the memorial. If I was in the country or merely traveling on business I would definitely be there. Perhaps I can come up sometime later this fall.

I am sorry for your unexpected loss of your dad, Ernie. I feel as if I have known him my entire life, as a child growing up in the amazing community that he loved so much. As a kiddo and through adulthood, I can remember him smiling and inquiring about my life and my family each time I would see him at the AYC. I will remember him fondly and his kind words, genuine smile and the amazing Bloody Mary's he would serve. 
I extend sympathy to your entire family. The Grady's are amazing people-I was blessed to live across the street from Bill and Jaylene for years and our families have been friends since before I entered grade school. I know you will all lean on each other to make it through this difficult time and with your faith in each other and God, you will find peace.
