

Ernie Grady, 74, of Lake Winnebago, Missouri, passed away August 1, 2013 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at the funeral home.
Ernie was born September 5, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of William Albert and Beatrice Voncille (Mills) Grady. He was a 1956 graduate of East High School and graduated from Missouri State Teacher’s College with a degree in English Lit. He had worked as a Manufacturers Rep in the automotive industry for Robert O. Dickey Co. for over 20 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was an avid reader and writer.
He moved to Lake Winnebago in 1986, where he tended bar at the Yacht Club until his death. Ernie liked to swim, play volleyball and basketball, and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a character and a natural comedian. Ernie when leaving a tip would always leave a mini Reese’s cup with it. He was a Disney fanatic and loved convertibles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Vince Grady. Ernie is survived by his daughters Terri Fox (Jon) and Lori Grady; brother Bill Grady (Jaylene); sister Linda Sanchez; three grandchildren Tiffany Patane (Luke), Kyle Bradley and Chad Bradley; two great-grandchildren Bentley and Emma Patane; extended family and friends. He will be missed!
