Esther was born June 12, 1950 to Tony and Trini Florez in Kansas City, MO. She attended Switzer Elementary, West Junior High, and graduated from Northeast High School. Esther was an assembly worker at Constar Plastics and then Hostess Bakery before retiring from environmental services at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Esther was a huge Kansas City Chief's fan.
Survivors include her two sons, Rocky (Dawn) Florez and Jerry Florez; 5 grandchildren, Anthony (fiancé-Aaliyah) Florez, Anna Marie (Brandon) Casarez, Carlos Florez, Cynthia Florez, and Alex Florez; 2 great-grandchildren, Eliana Casarez and Axel Florez; 8 brothers and sisters, Rachel (Osvaldo) Rocha, Virginia (John Joe) Reyes, Arthur (Christina) Florez, George (Janet) Florez, Anthony (deceased wife, Virginia) Florez, Frank (Frances) Florez, Connie (Luis) Perez, and Lorenza (Lorrie) Macias; a special niece, Sherri Vega; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, January 17, 2025 at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish, 2544 Madison Ave, Kansas City, MO 64108. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 - 11:00 AM Friday, January 17th, also at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish. Private inurnment will be in Forest Hill-Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
