Esther List

Esther List, 87 of Kansas City, KS, entered the peace of Heaven on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thurs, October 19 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, KCMO, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at All Saints Catholic Church, 8th & Vermont, Kansas City, KS, with burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO. Born on June 1, 1930 in Atchison, KS, Esther leaves behind her daugthers, Gloria (List) Hernandez, Esther (List) Arroyo, Lillian (List) Acosta Liszt; son, Steven List; the last of her seven siblings, Richard Rodriguez (Barbara); 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Esther worked many jobs to provide for her children before retiring from SRS with the state of Kansas. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the following: her granddaughters, Glory, Carrie, and Jessica, for giving of their time so grandmother was never alone during her hospitalization, to her physician, Dr. James Birch, Jr. for always being so generous of his care and time, to the staff of doctors and nurses at KU Medical Center who provided our mother with medical care and sincere compassion, and to our mother herself for giving us life, her love and her strength that we hope will get us through this loss until we meet again.
