Our Grandmother, Ms. Esther J. Tarlue was brought into this world on Thursday, June 11th, 1953 unto the union of Mr. Jimmy Niao Tarlue and his wife Mary Kloah Tarlue in Monrovia Liberia. She attended school in Monrovia and graduated from the C. W. A. High School in. In 1984, she was granted a scholarship by the then First Lady of the Republic of Liberia and she travelled to the United Stated of America along with 24 other scholarship recipients.

She attended the Chicago State University for two years and then decided to move to Kansas City, Missouri to be closer to family. She lived and worked in Kansas City, Missouri since then.

Our grandmother was an active member of her community in her days. She served the Grand Gedeh Association as an official, and was always involved with affairs of the communities whenever she could. She worked as a Nurse Aid, then a Certified Medication Tech part of her early years here. In 1994 when the Harrahs casino opened its doors, she told her friends and families that she was going there to work. She worked with Harrahs as a Lead Slot Tech until she left the organization in 2012.

She then decided that she was not going to punch the clock anymore. She then opened her own Day Care services which she ran until she could no longer work due to illness.

Our grandmother received numerous citations both professional and in her community throughout her life here in the United States. She had 4 children: Gladys, Abraham, Nehemiah, and David. Nehemiah precedes her in death. She had 10 brothers and sisters, of which Thomas, Sarah, and Rachael precedes her and death and Gray, Harry, Lucy, James, Doris, Benson, and Thomas are alive. She left behind 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a third on the way. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunty, niece, loved one, friend, a Christian and God fearing person.

We have lost someone, but heaven has gained an angel. Let us all remember her for the light she brought to our lives.
