Eula Faye Rimer was born in Camdenton, Missouri on May 27th 1935. She entered into rest on January 28th 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers, her husband, Dale Rimer, and her daughter, Melissa. She is survived by her 5 grandchildren and her son-in-law, Andrew Sudduth.
Eula Faye Rimer went by Faye for as long as we knew her until she would respond to the staff at Medical Lodge Facilities to them calling her Eula. Over the span of her life she married Dale Rimer in Tennessee on June 2nd 1955. She gave birth to their only child, Melissa Maye Rimer, on January 28th 1975. Melissa was truly a miracle child to both as Faye had 13 miscarriages before Melissa. Faye held a number of different jobs. She worked in a grocery store, several restaurants as a waitress, was an in-home day care provider and her last job was a cashier at Luby’s restaurant until they closed. For those that were in her care, people referred to her as Momma Faye.
Faye was fun to engage in conversation, witty, and was not afraid to speak her mind. She would often ask for advice and then argue about the advice you just gave. Also, Faye was never known to lose an argument. While at the time not so funny it now brings a chuckle as she did it at times just to bring an argument. She knew how to cook and anyone eating a meal at her house was treated to a more southern country home cooked meal with always plenty of food. Her way of showing love was always preparing a meal. Even as you left she would always ask if she could fix you something to take with you. She had a strong devotion to family and was all about trying to show love. Faye could sometimes be as hard as nails with people, just always wanting the very best for them.
As time went on and the end got near her tone got softer and she just wanted everyone to know she loved and missed them. She would talk to staff about her grandkids and how much she loved all of them. She told about how appreciative she was of Andrew for the help he continued to give her and assist her in getting her wishes fulfilled. She wished that she could have left more for the grandkids, but in the end she gave us the best thing she could have was her daughter, Melissa. Faye will be missed by those of us left here. At the end of her life she professed a faith in Jesus Christ when asked and knew that she would soon see Dale and Melissa again. Her only remaining wish is that we get to join her and the rest of the family in Heaven once our time comes.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb 8 at Brooking Cemetery, 10004 E. 53rd St. Kansas City, MO 64133.
