Evelyn Holcomb Hudson, 93, Mission Hills, KS, passed away April 21, 2012. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson was born April 11, 1919 in Streator, IL. She attended Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, IL and graduated from the University of Northern Illinois (DeKalb). She taught art in Joliet, IL before moving to Kansas City.
She was involved with the Crittenton Home for Unwed Mothers and the M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Mabel Holcomb, husbands Bob Hooker and M.R. Hudson, brothers Ed and Bob Holcomb, and one sister Maxine Jurgensen. Mrs. Hudson is survived by a niece Kelly Holcomb, nephews Jim and Gary Jurgensen, and sister-in-law Joyce Vanderhye Holcomb.
