
Fayrol passed away on October 26, 2010 at her home. Fayrol was born on December 15, 1932 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Duval Perey and Beatrice Fayrol Johnson Thornton. She graduated from the Hot Springs High School in 1950 and the University of Arkansas in 1954 with a BA degree where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was hired as an artist in the greeting card department at Hallmark Cards Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri. Fayrol held several supervisory positions and was promoted to a stylist position in 1969. The last 20 years of her career she was instrumental in developing and managing a research and development program for the creative artists and writers. She had the privilege of working on personal cards for Hallmark Executives and the Presidents of the U.S., having the honor of meeting President Reagan and Mrs. George Bush. After 43 years with the company she retired in 1998. She was a member of the Atkins-Museum “Friends of Art”, The Kemper Museum and The Toy and Miniature Museum. She grew up attending the First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alvin in 2001, her parents and three brothers, Robert, Duval and Dean Thornton and a nephew Kenneth Thornton. She is survived by her son, Robert Aaron Unverferth, four grandchildren, Taylor Dean, Anna Grace, Twins, August King and Robert Thornton, her brother, Neil and wife, Joyce of Hot Springs, Arkansas, sisters-in-law, Margery Thornton of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Betty Thornton of Conway, Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, October 29 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home with a light reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O.
