

Ferrell was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas (10th and Central). He was preceded in death by his parents Hilda and Ferrell (Bud) Heeter; brother Bill Heeter and sister Marguerite Hartnett. Ferrell graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1958. He married Judith Ann Griffith in 1960 and was married for 52 years.
Ferrell proudly served in the US NAVY from 1958-1963, where he was a member of the 1960 All Navy Basketball Team. He worked at Kansas City Power and Light for 39 years before retiring in 1999. Ferrell was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #10932 and the Sons of the American Revolution.
A devoted father of four children; Lisa Zimmer, Leslie (Kent) Brown, Joe (Colleen) Heeter and Lori (Alan) Thomas. A loving grandfather of eleven grandchildren; Whitney, Taylor, Jordan, Grace, Lauren, Paige, Abby, Madeline, Jake, Ava, Sophie and a proud great-grandfather of one great-grandson, Paxton; sisters, Jackie Erbin and Joanne Clark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3846 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, KS, 66208.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24th, at Church of the Ascension, 9510 West 127th, Overland Park, KS, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 25th, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Ascension, with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery.
