

Florence (Smith) Dusselier, 93, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 6th, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, 130 NW Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, May 5th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family House, 912 East 31st, Kansas City, MO, 64109.
Florence was born August 16, 1920, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank and Clara Smith. She graduated from Redemptorist grammar and high school. Florence graduated from Sarachon-Hooley Business School in Kansas City. She worked for Jenkins Music Company. She was united in marriage to Charles Joseph Dusselier on June 7, 1947 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO. Florence and Charles were affiliates of the Christian Brothers, AFSC. She was an early volunteer and coordinator for Holy Family House.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Charles. She is survived by her three sons; Paul (Jeanine) Dusselier, Martin (Janet) Dusselier, and Daniel (Carol) Dusselier; brother, Tom Smith; eight grandchildren: Andrew, Shannon, Angela, Scott, Gail, Renee, Charlie and Stephanie; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Max, Isabel, Levi and Liam.
