Florence Farley, 92, died at Carondelet Manor, October 31st. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 5th, at 10:00am, in Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main St., Kansas City. Visitation and luncheon follow at the church. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, MO.
Florence was born in Chicago, to Marie and Valentine Stefanik. She attended DePaul University and obtained a Masters in Special Education. After stints with the Chicago Tribune and The Order, the Religious of the Cenacle, she began teaching in the Chicago Public School system and continued there until marrying Edward Farley and joining him in Kansas City.
The words that best describe Florence are: unpretentious, straightforward and humorous, making for an engaging, interesting person, which indeed she was. People, experiences and ideas aroused her interest. For forty years she provided a warm, stimulating and happy home life for her husband, whose love, affection and esteem for her remains unbounded.
A word of sincere appreciation to Donna, Debby, Ronnie and Carrie, and to the administration of Carondelet Manor, for their care and attention to Florence in her last illness.
In lieu of flowers, consider favoring a needy charity.
