Floyd W. Kurzweil, Jr., “J.R.”, 77, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away April 20, 2013. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice or St. Matthews Catholic Church. Floyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Hendley Kurzweil and their children Kim Waller (Rob), Cleveland, Missouri, Karen Regan (Bill), Greenwood, Missouri, and Ken Kurzweil (Tracey Collier), Raymore, Missouri; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren with another due in June; and his sister Shirley Malson, Kansas City, Missouri. He and his parents owned and operated Flo-Mow Lawnmowers and Flo-Mow Hobbies on Blue Ridge in Grandview from 1948 until he retired in 1999. He enjoyed go-carting, drag racing, motorcycles, flying radio controlled helicopters and airplanes, and rebuilding cars. He flew his own Ercoupe as a young man. Floyd was a charter member of the High Performance Auto Club, the Sports Flyers and the Missouri Miniature Helicopter Club. “Forever loved-Forever missed.” Casual attire is requested.
