Forrest Ray Mason, Jr, husband, father, grandfather, passed away at home on December 9, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born in Kansas City to Forrest Ray, Sr., and Betty Ruth Mason on September 23, 1948.
He married Patricia Ann Minniear on January 12, 1968, and they shared 57 years of marriage. Together they had four children, Forrest, Amy, Katherine & Melissa. They had a successful horse & cattle ranch for over 20 years, as well as several small businesses
and various other ventures throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Ray, as he was known to his family and friends, raced cars in his youth and was an avid horseback rider. Later in life, he enjoyed lake-life on weekends at Pomme De Terre & Lake of the Ozarks. He spent many hours fishing and boating with his grandsons and could often be found relaxing outside with a Marlboro and a Cherry Pepsi. He took great pride in his home and maintained a perfectly manicured lawn. He was also a life-long Kansas City Chief’s fan. It was well known that if there was a Chief’s game on tv, he wasn’t missing it and commented often that he had never missed a televised game.
He was preceded in death by his: father, Forrest, Sr.; mother, Betty; daughter, Amy; and his sister, Pamela.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Forrest, Katherine & Melissa; grandchildren, Moses, Isiah, Sophie, Nina & Finley.
