Francis Donald Carroll

Francis Donald Carroll, 92, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Born on May 4, 1934, in Chula, Missouri, Francis lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his family, hard work, and a generous spirit.

Francis graduated from high school in Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1951. He went on to build a successful career spanning over three decades with the Missouri Public Service Company. Later in life, he also worked with Nichols Manufacturing. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his professional journey.

Beyond his career, Francis found joy in working on the farm. Whether tending to the land or helping others, he was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His kindness and willingness to assist others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Francis is survived by his beloved wife, Reta Carroll; his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Alison Carroll; daughter-in-law Debbie Carroll; and his cherished grandchildren: Kelly and James Lawson; Jeffrey and Melissa Carroll; Daylin and Eli Simons; Lindley Bode; Hollie Templeton; Devin Carroll; Hailey Licata; and Madison Brown. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Alexia, Jayden, James, Madison, Jennifer, Landon, Alexander, Thomas, and Karl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret Carroll; his brother Herman Carroll; and two sons, David Carroll and Randal Carroll.

Francis’s legacy of hard work, generosity, and love for family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
