Frank Warren Crawford, Air Force veteren, Eagle Scout, Professional Engineer, football coach, and really good joke teller, passed away October 12, 2012 of natural causes. Born September 12, 1934, Frank grew up in Kansas City and attended Soutwest High School. He later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he graduated with an Engineering Degree. He became a Captain in the Air Force and married Rochelle Virginia Reed. Frank worked as an engineer for more than 30 years, first at Smith & Lovelace, then at Allis-Chalmers, finally at Allied Signal, where he retired in the early 1990's. As a father, Frank was an assistant coach, later head coach of the Indian Creek Scouts football team. He was involved in the Indian Guides and Cub Scouts, winning the Pinewood Derby with his son in 1972. He was an avid golfer at Brookridge Country Club. He and his wife, Rochelle, loved to entertain, where he was always quick with a joke. Frank also was very good at the piano and a big fan of Big Band music. In later years, he could be seen cheering on old Mizzou, either in Columbia or on the road in the NCAA Playoffs. His wit, his laugh, and his smile will always be with us. Frank is survived by his wife Rochelle Virginia, his sons Robert, Kenneth and John Philip, his daughter Lisa, and eight grandchildren, the youngest his namesake, Franky. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14 at the funeral home.
