Frank John Glossip, affectionately known as "Pops" to his family and loved ones, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the age of 80, at North Kansas City Hospice, with his son and family by his side. A longtime resident of Gladstone, Missouri, Frank was a devoted family man whose spirited personality and heart of gold left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Frank was born on August 27, 1946, in North Kansas City, Missouri, to Lindley V. and Lucille S. (Eckhart) Glossip. He graduated from Lillis High School in 1966 and was a longtime parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Following his graduation, Frank began a career in the automotive parts industry. Even in retirement, he continued to stay active, working alongside his brother, Vince, at FV Property Brothers.
Frank enjoyed carpentry, NASCAR racing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Notre Dame football, and the Kansas City Royals. He also enjoyed playing bingo, taking boat rides, and attending his grandchildren's activities.
Frank was known for his ornery personality, quick wit, and unmistakable sass. Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, he always let you know exactly where he stood. He loved giving those around him a hard time, often with a mischievous sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes. But beneath that spirited personality was a man with a heart of gold and an unwavering love for his family.
Above all, Frank cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of his world and brought him his greatest joy. One of Pops' sweetest traditions was bringing candy to his "babies," a simple but loving gesture that became a cherished memory for those who received it.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores M. (Higgins) Glossip; his daughter, Sarah Ann Marie Glossip; his parents, Lindley V. and Lucille S. (Eckhart) Glossip; his brother, Larry Glossip; his nephew, David Glossip; and his niece Angel Glossip.
He is survived by his son, Frank V. Glossip, and daughter-in-law, Lori L. (Piatt) Glossip; his granddaughter, Dayna L. Glossip; his great-grandchildren, Tyler A. Glossip and Sarah L. Robb; his brother, Vince Glossip; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Frank will be remembered for his spirited personality, his heart of gold, and the unconditional love he had for his family. His laughter, honesty, and unforgettable sense of humor will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
