Frank was born in Keifer, Oklahoma to Emmett and Pauline Lee. Growing up he attended Salem High School in Salem, Illinois. After graduating he went back to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University achieving his Bachelors in Education. He moved to Kansas, attending the University of Kansas achieving his Master's in Teaching.
He taught at multiple schools throughout Oklahoma. He took pride and enjoyed coaching basketball and golf to his students. In 1964 he returned to Kansas City and taught government and was head varsity basketball coach at Washington High School in KCK until 1972. He went to work for Montgomery Wards until retirement.
He always had a passion for golf and kept swinging until he was 91. Working and volunteering to pursue golf at two local courses. He loved cheering for Oklahoma State, and was always tuned to the Chief's, Royal's, and all local sports. He strong in his faith and attended Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee's Summit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Peterson Lee.
He is survived by his sons, Brian Lee, Scott Lee, and Mark Lee (Tim); his step-sons, Mike Watt (Vicki), and Kevin Watt (Sandy); his brother, Terry Lee (Linda); his nieces, Erika Adams (Jon), and Teresa Furgeson (Jim); and many more extended family throughout the country.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, at Mt. Moriah Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM, with the funeral service following at 10:00AM. A committal service will conclude services in Mount Moriah Cemetery at 11:00AM.
