

Born May 18, 1940, Springfield, Ohio, Frank was a loving and devoted husband and father, inspiring teacher, gifted oral surgeon and story teller. He loved golfing, sailing, and spending time with family. His favorite childhood memories surround Theisen Woods, Indian Lake, Ohio.
A member of Phi Kappa Psi, Frank completed dental training at Ohio State University ‘64, Oral Surgery training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, served in Vietnam ’66-67, retired as a Full Bird Colonel ‘87, professor at UMKC School of Dentistry until 2000.
The family expresses thanks to Dr. Cosmo Caruso, Dr. Dan Geha, nurses Jane and Sherri, and all the staff of 4 telemetry St Joseph’s Hospital.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Eva Catherine Theisen, his brothers, Joseph and William Theisen, and his grandson, Derek Risner. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Lynne Schopper, 4 children, Jacqueline Risner, Dr. Jennifer Jiang, Daniel, and Katherine Theisen, and 3 grandchildren, Stefanie and Ian Risner and Eleanor Jiang.
Visitation will be held on November 1, 2015 from 2:30 to 5:30 pm at McGilley State Line Chapel. Memorial services will be held on November 2, 2015 at 11:30 am at Church of the Nativity 3800 W 119th Leawood, KS.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in honor of Frank C. Theisen.
