Gary David Bailey

He was born June 27th, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Estle J. & Patricia A. (Bryant) Bailey, both preceded him in death. He grew up and attended schools in Independence, Missouri & Blue Springs, Missouri, graduating from Cameron High School class of 1974.

He attended MU in Columbia, Missouri pursuing a Chemical Engineering degree.

In 1981 he married Claire Spielhagen to which they were blessed with 5 children, Ryan, Eric (Julia), Daniel, Jennifer (Chris), Christopher (Christine). Who have given him 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Jackson, Ethan, Eva.

Gary moved his young family to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1990, seeking better job opportunities. He was employed by a local furniture manufacturer, designing programs for furniture.

Later he returned to Kansas City, Missouri taking a challenging job with Brogdon Machine Aerospace Company in Blue Springs, Missouri as an engineer who designed programs that were used to make airplane parts for Boeing based out of Wichita, Kansas.

During this time, he bought several Auto Inspection companies in Charlotte, North Carolina, which returned him back to North Carolina where he was actively involved in daily operations.

His programming experience led him to design and build 3D printers and Resin ovens for companies who manufactured products world wide. His engineering work with resin took him to…London, Germany, Italy, China and all over the United States.

Gary was a very intelligent person who could talk to anyone about anything. An extremely hard-working man with a heart of gold who was generous to a fault never asking for anything in return.

He loved life and its adventures, as well as NASCAR, KC Chiefs, politics, traveling, music, dancing, outdoors, the lake, fishing, baking pies, playing practical jokes, helping and talking. His most precious treasures are his children and grandchildren, they rocked his world.

Gary will be greatly missed by his children, family, friends and all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held Friday May 30th at 2:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131

Celebration of Life will be held for Gary on his 70th birthday: June 27th, 2025 from 5-9pm at 9000 Davis Lake Parkway, Charlotte, North Carolina 28269
