A memorial visitation is from 3:00-5:00 PM Saturday, November 13th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel.
Gary was born November 30, 1943 to Herschel and Alicine (Johnson) Bateman in Kansas City. He was a 1962 graduate of North Kansas City High School. Gary was a classic car enthusiast and also enjoyed antiques. He had been employed by Burlington Northern Railroad and retired as a machinist from Precise Forms, Inc. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Judy Turley; and two children, Lourie Bateman and Gary Dean Bateman; and a brother, James Bateman.
Survivors include a daughter, Darcie Mendenhall; two sisters, Jackie Thorne and Darlene Stakley and husband, Richard; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Bateman; three grandchildren, David DeGerald, Adia Hazeslip, and Emmerson Mendenhall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
