Gary Ray Garcia

Gary Ray Garcia, 58, passed away on December 5, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 26, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. A life long resident of Kansas City, he volunteered his time at Wild Childs working on cars. Some of his hobbies included swiping his card at the boats, making birdhouses, hat racks, or piggy banks for his grandchildren. He loved to pick on those babies and spend time with his family. Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Garcia; daughter, Melissa Garcia-Hill (Brock); sons, Michael Tinoco (Connie), Christopher Tinoco (Kristi), Jason Garcia (Alisha), all of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren; mother, Betty Garcia-Yuran; brothers, Michael, David (Stephanie), and Rafael Garcia; sisters, Debra Lopez (Albert) and Susan Butner (Jay).

Mass of Christian Burial will be on 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at Holy Name Church, Southwest Blvd and Iowa St. Burial to follow in Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. (Rosary at 7 p.m.) on Thursday at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions to may be made to Laura Garcia, c/o Bank of America.
