Gene is survived by his wife Jackie Honomichl of Kansas City, his mother Margaret (Maggi) Kornis of Pleasant Hill, MO, his daughter Kristina Saxon and her husband Glenn of Denver CO, his stepson Kenneth Paul and his partner Anthony Whiteshirt and stepdaughter Christina Paul of Midwest City, OK. He also leaves his 3 adored grandchildren, Callaway Saxon, Joshua Lewis, Jr and Ember Wagner.
Jackie and Gene were married May 14, 2001 and made their home and lives together in Kansas City.
Gene was an ornamental ironworker by trade for many years until he retired in 2008.
After retirement his past times became working in the yard and tinkering in the garage. Gene rarely found anything he couldn't fix and he always had a project going.
Although it was difficult for Gene to show it, he truly loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him.
