George Paul Armendariz

George Paul Armendariz, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at his home with family by his side. He was blessed with life on October 11, 1944, born in Kansas City, Missouri to David and Margaret Armendariz.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael A. Armendariz, son-in-law Brian Lynch, grandson Juan Ibarra, ex-wife and life-long friend Mary Armendariz.

He is survived by his children, Yolanda Armendariz (Carlos Valencia) of Kansas City, MO; Bliss (Gene) Weeks Jr. (Adrienne) of Kansas City, KS; Maria Lynch of Lawrence, KS; Renee Hoagland of Mesa, AZ; and bonus daughter, Sarah Burke of Kansas City, MO.

George leaves behind 15 grandchildren Samantha Nelson, Alicia Sustaita-Ibarra, Carlos Sustaita Jr., Darion Hoagland, Carlos D. Valencia, Michael S. Armendariz, Kaden Hoagland, Antonina Sustaita, Dominick Valencia, Monica Armendariz, Joseph Armendariz, Mariano Armendariz, Santiago Sustaita, Giuliana Armendariz and Mari Valencia.

He was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, Nury Ibarra, Ellie and Eli Hoagland, Isauro and Mariana Gurrola, Zayd Weeks and Anthony Armendariz.

George leaves behind 5 siblings, John Armendariz, Mary Strada (Don), Teresa Benson (Lee), Beatrice Armendariz, Becky Larson (John).

George graduated from De La Salle High School in 1963. He began a career path of building wooden bars and the famous Round Dome Beds of the 1970's, with his most famous celebrity client being Elvis Presley. He later moved onto building restaurant booths for KC Booth and in the early 1980's he started his own business, Custom Booth Mfg. He had a love for remodeling, home decor, flowers and gardening but is best known for being a hard worker that never knew when to stop, as he was always on the go.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 23, 2026, 6-8 pm at McGilley's Northland Chapel on Vivion Road with the Rosary at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass services will be on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (Redemptorist) 3333 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111.

Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery, 2201 Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, MO 64127.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at KU Medical Center Oncology and St. Luke's Oncology and NKC Hospice and Pallative Care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society of Greater Kansas City. Donations may be made at the services.

George will forever be a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, who will always be loved and greatly missed by many!
