David went to Washington high school where he competed in football and track. He later won a scholarship to Kansas State University and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He met his wife Joyce on a blind date. Then he joined the army and was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. Professionaly, was a civilian auditor for the Dept of Defense where he worked for his entire career.
David was very active in many outside groups like the Masons, VFW, American Legion and a deacon in the Presbyterian church.
David is preceeded by his parents Charles and Ruth Burton, brother Dean and sister Sharon.
He is survived by his sister Carol, brother Michael, wife Joyce, daughter, Susan, son, Jon, two grandsons, Spencer and Sheridan and two granddaughters, Meghan and Morgan.
