George C. Marcum, 91, of Independence, MO, passed away August 31, 2014. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 5-7 pm at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5th at 12:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. George was born on June 18, 1923 in Ashland, KY. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. George was an American P.O.W. Life Member. He was preceded in death by his wife Nadine Marcum. George is survived by son Randy A. Marcum of Independence, MO, son Charles W. Marcum of Independence, MO, one brother of Kentucky, three sisters of KY, OH & FL, 5 grandkids & 7 great grandkids all of the KC area.
