George V. Tyhurst

George V. Tyhurst, 80 of Kansas City Missouri, passed away on January 13, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. George was born on June 19, 1934 in Kansas City to Willet M. and Marie (Vernor) Tyhurst. He loved cooking, entertaining, art and music. George was an avid golfer. He loved the White Sox, Royals, Bears and the Chiefs. He retired from Illinois Bell in labor relations. He also volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1962. George loved to serve others and their needs. George is survived by: Jan Tyhurst of Illinois, Daughters, Lynn (Dave) McLaren of Ohio and Lisa (Pat) Leyden of Illinois: Grandchildren, Garrett, Austin, Taylor McLaren, Patrick, Kara, and James Leyden, and beloved cousins.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, visitation at 1:00 p.m. at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., KCMO 64111
