Geraldine "Gerry" J. Myers

Geraldine J. Myers, 86, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away February 8, 2018, two years to the day after her beloved husband Trinnith D. Myers. A visitation will be held from 10am to 11am followed by a memorial service at 11am on Monday, February 12, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at a later date at McCullough Cemetery in Triplett, Missouri.

Gerry was born in Higginsville, Missouri on December 20, 1931 to Lander James & Lillian Meade. After graduating high school her family scraped the money together to send Gerry to secretarial school in Kansas City. She continued to make notes in short hand all her life. While she worked off and on over the years, her real joy came when she married a young man from the small town near where she grew up. Gerry married Trinnith D. Myers in 1953 and this joyful union produced a large and loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years T.D. Myers and leaves behind; son Rodney Myers (Debbie); daughters Patty Daniels (Cliff) and Kim Marks (Richard); grandchildren Ryan Myers (Alison); Travis Myers (Amy); Amy Garrelts (Chris); Carrie Smart (Peter); Katie Kueny (Andy); Garret Marks; twelve great-grandchildren; Maxwell Garrelts, Claire Garrelts, Elizabeth Garrelts, Parker Myers, Reese Myers, Merrick Myers, Anna Smart, Finn Smart, Isabella Kueny, Addison Kueny, Burkett Myers and Alexander Myers.

Her favorite things were family gatherings. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan and enjoyed attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren, and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Later in life, she and T.D. wintered in Florida where they made many dear friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sunrise of Leawood and Ascend Hospice for the support, comfort and care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Ascend Hospice (4550 West 109th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66207), who provided care and comfort in her final days.
