Geraldine M. Willis of Kansas City Missouri passed away on January 31, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born on May 31, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri where she grew up with her brother John Rempe and her sister Bernadine (Rempe) Wilson.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949.
She worked as a Senior Claims representative for Travelers Insurance until her retirement.
She was actively involved in her church, The Rebekah Lodge, and the food pantry of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Rempe; her mother Teresa Rempe; her brother John Rempe; her sister Bernadine (Rempe) Wilson; her husband Harold Willis; her daughter Angela Parson; and her nephew Loren Smith.
She is survived by her son Michael Willis; grandson Joseph Willis; granddaughters Amanda Gunter and Christina Thomas; great-grandchildren Alexander Gunter, Kameron Willis, Kadien Willis, Kole Willis; and Kaitlynn Smith-Williams
She enjoyed traveling to Branson and Silver Dollar City with her friends. She enjoyed embroidery and crochet and would travel to craft shows throughout the state with her daughter Angela, sister Bernadine, and brother-in-law Calvin.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff at Centerpoint Medical Center and Crossroads Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City Missouri on February 7, 2024 at 11 A.M. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery
