Happy Fathers Day my dad!!!

I love you more than anything. I miss you so much more. 
You are constantly needed by all of us! I always want to tell you things and ask you things. You are an amazing father. You brought so much love and wisdom and humor to our lives. Dad, I had the worst day a few weeks ago and this man came into my work. He resembled you and I couldn't keep my eyes off him. I began to cry uncontrollably. After I thought about it, I realized you were trying to be there for me. 
I love you dad and I need you so much.

Happy Happy Birthday my dad!
We would've had a big celebration for you this year, I just know it. Or at least I would hope we would. I think of so many things that we would have done with you. I get maudlin thinking of you with my kids or my childhood with you. I remind my kids of things I shared with you or of what they shared with you. Even the tiniest of things...giving mijo his first taste of Hawaiian Punch, showing Isabel your Elvis moves, and conspiring with Ava to sneak off to Target(even if you were placating her), and gingerly petting Ponch. Playfully telling Jeromy that you like the confetti he left for you, knowing it was his discarded cigarette butts. The point is my dad is that we all have so many tiny, significant moments with you that we speak about them often. You still have such an impact on our lives. I miss you beyond words.

Hi my dad.

It's been quite the respite since the last time I talked to you...I've missed you and needed you more in this last year. I know you see everything going on and I always think of the guidance you would give me. Unfortunately dad, I believe I am failing. I'm grasping for all things you have taught me and the smallest things I would secretly tuck away in my memory of what I loved and admired. Thankfully Ron has tried to help. It's weird because Ron looks like you and I know that you would've done what Ron did as well. I couldn't help but feel like you were coming through him. Every time I see both Ron and Paul, I see you. I think of you every time I see my brothers. They both look like you, sound like you, say things that you would say, gesture like you and it gets me choked up. You are always my home base. You and mom. I pray that my kids feel that same way about me. 
You have left a huge hole in this family dad. We all feel it. 
Being without you is not getting easier. 
I love you so much!

Happy Father's Day my dad! 

There's a lot to tell you...Mijo began his first job. It was a job that he pursued and he actually likes it. He could've accepted the job that Jeromy actually reserved for him but Mijo wanted to get a job on his own. I was upset about it at first but Mijo quickly applied and was offered a position at Dunkin Donuts. I was very proud. I haven't heard any complaints thus far. Dad, I remembered the things you spoke to me about when I first started in the work force and I sat Mijo down and told him the same thing. Be prompt, do your best, always have a smile on your face, keep in tact your reputation, strive for better, and always know that you can go to the next level. 
Isabel is doing good as well. She is still dancing and has impressed me with her skill. She still enjoys it, which is great. She's maturing very fast. 
Ava is doing equally well. Dancing as well and improving so much. And of course she is smart as a whip and always coming up with something new. 
Your favorite dog, Ponch is growing older. 
Jeromy and I are doing ok. Jeromy is busy at work. You know him, he always is very loving to his kids and me. 
I wanted to let you know that I have seen you. Almost everyday. I see red birds flying in front of my car, sitting on the side of the road, or walking in a yard, etc. I know it's you. And I always smile when I see that. Ok sometimes I cry as well. I just wanted you to know that I, to this day, see and feel your presence. I love you!

The family just had visited the cemetery to show our love for you. We all miss you so much. Dee brought a carrot cake for all of us to eat in your honor. We released birthday balloons for you and of course mine went the highest. I hope you saw it. I constantly look for signs that you are still here and looking over us. And I do see those signs a lot. I just wish you were here for all of us to celebrate with you. You are forever in my thoughts and I love you so much!!

Happy birthday daddy, I miss you everyday and talk to you always. You were always the one that I wanted to marry...remember?! You were the best father that a girl could have. Merry Christmas dad! 
Well dad, Mijo turned the big 16 today. I can't believe it! Dad I remember the day he was born and how you and mom were the first ones at the hospital. And how much I wanted you in the room with me and even asked you to be in there while I gave birth. You said you couldn't be in there because you wouldn't be able to stand the sound of me screaming. Later on Aunt Kay told me you were right outside my hospital room door and wouldn't leave until I had Mijo. I always knew you were there for me and would always be there for my kids. I just know that you would have called Mijo today and wanted to talk to him about life and growing up. I so miss listening to you speak. 
Today I watched a video that Ron and his family made for mom. It was an amazing video that had pictures of you. Through the tears in my eyes and lump in my throat, I found myself laughing. Mostly I just miss you. Miss your advice, miss your reassurance, miss your hugs, miss your stories, miss your care packages, miss the way you were with my kids, miss how you made me laugh, miss how you would start laughing and couldn't stop, miss how you brought the family together...miss miss you. Love you my whole life dad!

Happy Thanksgiving my dad! 
This year has been more difficult than last. It's a year of settling with the weight of you really not being here and reconciling that fact. I wish you were here to see that Antonio is doing better in school, that Isabel had the great opportunity to dance for the Royals when they won the World Series, that Ava yet again is serving on Student Council, that Ponch hasn't had a seizure in quite some time. But mostly I wish that this has been a horrible nightmare and you are still living and here giving us your advice and council. I wish you to be with us for forever, for you to live out years with mom by your side and living wonderful memories with you. And yet this is what I am thankful for: Having happy, loving and healthy kids, a loving husband, a roof over my head, a family[biological and extended] by my side, loyal friends, and memories of a father that I will cherish throughout my life and know that my kids also will. We always have a smile on our faces when speaking of you. Just know that although I miss you, I cherish you more. Love, Love, Love you dad! Always.

Hi dad, really miss you. Was a rough day for me, I always catch myself wanting to just pick up the phone and call you...and then I remember that I can't. But I do talk to your picture on a daily basis. We had a wonderful day visiting you on Saturday it was a beautiful day! Thank you for being the most wonderful father a girl could ever have and the advice giver that you were. Will always remember our talks. Love and miss you so much.

Hi dad. Well I tried to make this day as best I could. Even though it has been a year since you passed. It doesn't seem real or even normal. I still say, "my parents this, my parents that", I still feel like you are still here. I still have conversations with you and see signs of you when I need it. Selfishly I kept the kids home from school today. I wanted to be with my kids to somehow help me get through the day. And it was a great day! I made them a big breakfast...yes dad, I MADE breakfast. We laughed and just had a good time. I've always kept steady what you told me...always greet my kids with a smile and be in the moment with them. That's why I have always told them "I love you" out loud and out of the blue. You always told me that you love me. That was never in question for me! I miss you so much that I can't breathe at times. I LOVE YOU MUCHO DAD!

Hi grandpa! We went and visited u today, it's been a year since u past and not a day goes by that I don't think about u. I have your picture hanging in my living room and every day I tell my boys who u are since they were young when u past. I can now ask Adrian "where's grandpa?" And he points to your picture every time. Most times when we leave the house he will look at your picture and tell u bye. Every time he does that it makes me feel like u are here and watching over us and I feel happy inside but also sad because I can't just pick up the phone to call u. When we were leaving the cemetery today Adarious got in the car and began to pray, he said "Jesus please tell grandpa they I miss him and I wish he was still here" that touched my heart to much. We miss u grandpa so so much. I love you!!!

Hi dad. I was thinking about you all day, like i normally do and something nice happened. I went to get my hair done and my hair dresser and I started talking about nothing special but it ended up being a blessing. She asked if my parents lived in Missouri and I said "my mom lives in Peculiar". Which that was odd because to this day I still say "my parents". She then asked if my parents were divorced and I told her that you were passed. She then opened up about her dad passing just 3 months ago. Our stories about our fathers were very similar. We both held our fathers in high regard, tried to emulate you, kept close the things you taught us, remembered all the funny and amazing memories. Also that we love having pictures of our fathers but it's still very hard to really look at those pictures. I went on to tell her that when you would sit at your kitchen table looking outside your back deck, there would be a pretty little red bird(a cardinal) sitting on that deck. Very soon after your passing I saw a cardinal. That pretty little red bird flew right outside my bedroom window. Ever since then I would see cardinals sporadically. I know you're always with me. I still dream of you and love you very much. I just wanted you to know that talking about you today gave me such joy.

Hi dad. Well we took the kids to see a movie today for Father's Day and it made me think of all the times you and mom took me or took me and Monnie. You would take us to eat wherever we wanted before the movie and allow us to choose anything within reason off the menu. Even if mom would tell us "no", you of course would say to us "Mija you girls get whatever you want". During the movie, you would laugh at things that weren't that funny but because you would be laughing so hard, it would make me/us laugh even harder. After the movie we would ask you why that was so funny to you and you would start to laugh as you tell us. I miss your laugh. Now I often think of all the times you would laugh and in turn make us all laugh at the random things you would say. You brought such joy to all of us. I think about you every day. I love you! Happy Father's Day dad!

Happy Birthday dad! I miss you every single day. You have taught me so much and I always try to emulate that. You were a constant force in my life and always made me feel like I could do anything. You taught me how to be assertive, never back down, always to keep in mind my reputation, love my kids with all my heart, but most of all keep Jesus forever in my heart. The best man ever! I am very sorry to hear of your loss.  Gil was my manager at GSA for a year or so in the 1970's.  I considered one of my favorite managers in my career.

Angie and family, I am so sorry to see the passing of Gibby. He was a true friend of my John. They grew up together and Gibby always looked after John. John looked up to him and highly respected him and his family. Now Gibby can go straighten John out again. Sure we'll have more action in the weather when they get together.  My very best. I just don't have words to express my sincere sense of loss and wish the entire family blessing and peace during this time. Gilbert was a sense of strength when my father passed. Gilbert not only took the time to support our family, but I just reread about a 5 page letter he wrote me about my dad and I read it regularly. My thoughts, prayers and love to the family.
