Glenn grew up in small towns throughout Central Missouri, carrying with him the steady values of close-knit communities. He attended Marshall High School and continued his education at Missouri Valley College. He also trained as a medical technologist at Menorah Hospital, approaching each step with the same dependable work ethic that would mark his life.
In November of 1958, Glenn was drafted into the United States Army, where he dutifully served his country until 1962. His service reflected a quiet commitment—doing what was asked, doing it well, and doing it with integrity.
After returning home, Glenn met the love of his life, Lynne Joines. They were married on June 6, 1962, and celebrated more than 64 years together. In the home they settled into in 1963, they raised two daughters and built a life defined by devotion, constancy, and the everyday acts of care that make a family strong.
Those who knew Glenn knew a man who could work with his hands and lighten a room with well-timed humor. Creative and capable, he helped build additions to the family home, including a greenhouse, and even converted the garage into a family room—projects that spoke to both his industrious nature and his desire to make home a warmer, more welcoming place. He had a true green thumb and took deep pleasure in his plants and garden. He also enjoyed art, especially china painting, knitting, and needlepoint, bringing patience and craftsmanship to everything he made.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Neda Bunch.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lynne Bunch; his daughters, Sarah Bunch and Amy Holder; his granddaughters, Natalie Denlinger (Johnny) and Alexandra Holder; and his sister, Donna Sharkey (Gary).
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Anthony's Senior Living and Catholic Community Hospice for the dedicated care and kindness they showed Glenn in his final days.
