Glenn Ray Owens, 86, of Overland Park, KS departed for Heaven on Thursday, October 2, 2014 after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer’s. His smiling face and quirky humor will be missed. At age 17 Glenn joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served in WWII and the Korean Wars. He received 5 medals for his service. He and his wife owned a Lincoln- Mercury Dealership and John Deere dealership in Topeka, KS. He is predeceased by his sons Randall and Gregory. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years Joy F. Owens, a son David B. Owens, M.D. (Rosemary) and their children Carlye and Brent Owens and Marlisa Rader (Ryan), and grandson Ted R. Owens (Lori) and beloved nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. KCMO 64133 816-353-1218. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 6, at 9 AM and Celebration of Life and burial immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
