Glenn was compassionate and thoughtful, and he will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew and loved him.
Born September 11, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, Glenn was the son of Glenn Emery Pittser Sr. and Viola Marie Pittser. He grew up in Kansas City and attended Central High School, graduating in 1958. He continued his education at Junior College for a few years before entering the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Glenn served honorably in the Air Force, helping set up radar sites during the Vietnam War. His service took him across the United States—from Alaska to Hawaii—and overseas to Turkey. After 21 years of dedicated service, he retired from the military in 1982. Following retirement, Glenn continued a life of steady commitment and hard work with the United States Postal Service, where he served for 20 years.
In 1961, Glenn married the love of his life, Sandra Barnes. Together, Glenn and Sandra Arlene Pittser shared 64 years of marriage and raised two children.
Glenn was a member of First Baptist Church of Belton for over 30 years. He held a strong, quiet faith, and he now rests in Christ. He loved America—its people, its places, and its spirit—and he especially enjoyed country music, NASCAR, and traveling the nation’s beautiful vistas with his wife. Above all, Glenn cherished time with his family; wherever they were, that was home to him.
Glenn was an exceptional and loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who valued and loved his family and friends. His legacy is one of faithful service, steadfast devotion, and a life lived with quiet strength and care for others.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Emery Pittser Sr. and Viola Marie Pittser; and his two sisters, Delores Eylar, and Sandra Barker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandra Arlene Pittser; his sons, Tim (Angie) Branson and Charles Belton; his brother, Roger Pittser, Kansas City; his sister-in-law, Shirley Allen, Raymore; his grandchildren, Joshua, Katelynn, and Faith; and his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Forest, Sola, and Lilly Jo.
